If you leave this category blank, it defaults to a no if you have entered something into fairway hit category. I wanted to use this category to only track the % that my Driver is in play so I can see whether I should ever bother hitting it again.
I left it blank for all the times I hit woods or irons off the tee, and after I saved it defaults them all to a miss for a playable drive.

We have it defaulting now because as with fairways people were not bothering to select miss and then questioned why it was 100% with only 3 set as hit. This one is different than fairways and might make sense to not have it default.

I see what you mean about fairways and how laziness makes this category a problem.
I typically hit an iron or fairway wood off the tee under the assumption it will be in play, and the driver for the risk/reward and lately not knowing where it will go.
I figure its not as easy as making an option to turn off the automatic default. That way its convenient for lazy or picky people. And those that turn it off and neglect to input their misses will only be lying to themselves.

This is changed now. There is no default for playable drive. If you don't input yes or no it doesn't get counted.
