So, I've played 4 rounds with my new Eidolon wedges (GW, SW & LW) and have nothing but good things to report. It didn't take me long to learn how to hit the LW; I figured I would have a tendency to skull it since I haven't used a LW. I even chipped one in for birdie from about 15 yards out with my LW; the first round I played with it.

Looking at my stats since using the Eidolon wedges, I am 11.2 over par; compared to being 19.3 over par without them. I think this is mainly because I don't have the 5 to 7 wedge mis-hits per round now; I've only had 2 mis-hits a round at most.

My putts per hole have even decreased since using the Eidolon wedges; I am now able to place the ball a little closer to the hole with chip shots. Since chip shots check so well with these wedges, I am no longer having troubles keeping my chips from running out and past the hole.

The wedges have excellent feel and have the best spin on a wedge I've ever hit (better than Vokeys in my opinion).

I know these wedges are a little pricey, but I don't regret the purchase at all; I believe these wedges are worth the money.

I'm with you on the value of the Eidelon wedges! I just got a SW from them, played 3 rounds so far with it, and love it! The spin I get with this thing when hitting from anywhere within about 60 yds is amazing. I really like their grip too. I've never held a club that felt so at home in my hand and had NO feeling of slipping during any swing, whether full, half, or little chips.
I've also mailed Terry at Eidelon. They have a "returning customer" discount so I've ordered my wife one of their SWs, and am going to be ordering a GW and LW from them soon.

I agree cheymike; the wedges feel at home in my hands as well. I wish my irons had the same feel.

Out of curiosity what shaft and flex did you get? Does the shaft/flex matter to you? I'm looking into getting a club or two from Eidolon and have been going back and forth between graphite and steel.

I got the regular flex, steel shaft, as that is what I play with all my irons. I'm very happy with it.

Jeremy, I also bought the steel shafts with reg flex. Since all of my irons are steel shafted and reg flex I wanted to stay consistent.

Sorry to be so long in answering this particular part of this.... Eidelon just happens to sell their grips pretty reasonable!

Quick question - which finish do you have, the prime or the standard? I am going to order a couple and questioning which would be better.

I have the PRIME finish. Very pro looking and starts to rub off to give it that raw finish. Underneath the prime coat is bare metal. So it will rust. I wanted to ask Terry what I could use to keep it looking like the PRIME look. I'll post back if I find out anything.

I currently have 48,52,56, and 60 in PRIME. They look awesome in the bag and perform just as good. I chose the regular steel shafts.

I have Project X Rifle 6.0 shafts in my irons and was wondering if I should order the stiff flex in the wedges as well. I know Eidolon suggests you should but I'm not sure I'd like the feel around the green as much. Has anyone else with stiff iron shafts ordered an Eidolon wedge? If so, which flex did you go with?

fredsco: if you're playing stock wedges now you probably have a stock (i.e. very stiff) wedge shaft, so going with Project X in your wedges would probably be more than fine.

I recently got my GW Eidolon in and I noticed how much heaver the head is. Did anyone else notice that?
I have a graphite reg flex shaft as that is what my irons are.

I just received my new Eidolons in the mail today. 50*, 54* and 58* with competition (conforming) grooves and firm flex. I'll update after i play today

I'm looking at getting a set of 3 Eidolon Wedges and have a few questions which you guys might be able to help with...

My PW is 47* loft with my irons 4* apart...so I was thinking of going 51*, 55* and 59* for my wedges. However, I am led to believe that the Eidolon's generate so much spin that it may be better to go 50*, 54* and 58* so that my distance gaps stay consistant (as more spin = less distance). Thoughts?

Secondly, Chrome or PRIME finish? Is there any discernable difference in performance/durability? or is it a purely cosmetic thing?

Eidolons do generate a lot of spin. I went from a 52, 56, 60 in srixon to a 50, 54, 58 in eidolons.

They fill the gaps nicely and i find that the distance i hit them is much more useful as opposed to the 105, 95, 85 i hit the other wedges. I have the chrome finish with the competition (conforming) grooves and they spin like Craaaaaaaaazy, so i could only imagine how much the normal grooves spin. The "chrome" is also not so much a nickel chrome as it's almost a sandblasted satin. I think you'll like them if you go that direction.
