I suggest to use google maps as basis for the course finder

Why is that? Is there a specific part of the Google Maps you like better?

The API (developer side) of Mapquest is much better and the maps seem to be very similar.

I agree the Google Maps gives a better satalite view and you can get good detail of the terrein. The mapquest hasn't been updated for sometime with its satalite...http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=42.336437,-85.51142&spn=0.008105,0.019248&t=h&z=16

totaly agree, Map quest is useless for Ireland.
makes the whole iphone app pointless, no satalites or very bad ones. On to another gps track for me. thank god i did buy it yet.
Google API V3 is great for development.
