I'm gonna check 'em out. I like the idea of not having to buy new clubs when my grooves wear out. Plus, I can stock pile the "old groove" plates, so that if they stop making them for us, I can still have 'em.

I think I read that those wedges were ruled as illegal -- the ones with the deep grooves -- the ones with the 2010 grooves were ok.

I think this is the most brilliant form of adjustable club available. I'm not sold on I-Mix (Callaway) or the r9/STR8-FIT stuff- too many who don't know what they're doing trying to make it "right"- but the adjustable face is awesome.

You buy your wedges, grind them to what you like, and for the rest of your life, you spend $40 whenever you want/need a faceplate. Or $2-$7 for a new grip. It makes more sense than paying $100+ every time you need a new wedge, plus eliminating the hassle of always having to grind the new wedges.

I recently purchased the 50,54 and 58 degree new Taylor Made wedges. The new one have "non conforming" groves. "conforming" groves can be used, if need be.
But the only USGA tournaments that are requiring conforming groves for amateurs are for the Men's and Women's Sectional qualifiers for the US Open and the Opens themselves. Both Men's and Women's US Amateurs will allow non conforming groves in 2010.
