Occasionally, I play at one of those courses that require collared shirts. Since I also occasionally play in inclement weather, I was wondering if anyone know whether or not the mock polos made by Under Armour qualify as a collared shirt?

I am sure it varies from course to course. If you can check out their policy, it will usually say mock turtle collar or full turtle collar is acceptable. My advice would be to call the facility and ask them Wink

I have a nylon wind breaker I keep in my bag to wear over my collared polo when the weather cools down.

I meant to say mock turtleneck...not mock polo...

I was wearing a windbreaker over my polos this fall when the weather got cold, but my problem is that I sweat too much even when it's 35-40 degrees. Add a slight breeze, and that kind of weather gets quite miserable.

I discovered Under Armour gear this fall, and I'm completely sold dispite the price. It keeps me dry and warm. The problem is, the top layer that I've fallen in love with is a mock turtle neck that doesn't go over a polo very well.

Some courses accept mocks and others do not. Just depends really, I would call and okay it first just to be safe.

Two years ago I showed up at the course in Ocean Reef in Key Largo with a mock turtle neck that had a PGA logo on it and was told I "must" wear a shirt with a collar on it. They do not recognize a mock turtle neck or a turtle neck as a collar. Choice was to buy an $80 shirt so I could play or head back to the room....I headed back to the room--i Embarassed

My daughter likes to drive me around in the cart occasionally when I play. An illustrator, it gets her away from the drawing board for a bit and gets her outside doing nothing.

Surprised me one hot day, one of the course pros questioned my daughter about her tank-top. Apparently she thought the shoulder straps were too narrow.

we negotiated our way thru it as I am a regular duffer but they appreciate that she dress accordingly next time.

It's kind of funny. In another thread, a couple of blokes were complaining about people standing behind them when they shoot. That doesn't bother me. In fact, I don't understand why it's a big deal.

Now when people don't dress nice when they go golfing...for some reason that does bother me. No I don't expect perfect formal attire for every golfer, but I do find excess skin or grungy clothing to be distracting. It's probably not a big deal on a kid, but on adults it is extremely distracting.
