I also don't understand why a lot of amateur golfers use forged player irons (blades). In my opinion, you really shouldn't be using forged irons unless you're a 4 handicap or lower.

It's funny...when I ask my friends (handicap > 4) why they use forged irons, they usually reply, "yeah, I know they're harder to hit, but when you hit it pure, it feels really good". Well, when I pure my thick-soled Nike slingshots, it feels really good too. And when I chunk or blade my shots, they feel pretty good too.

WHY? WHY? WHY???

Forged has nothing to do with it; it's just the process by which the club is made. They have forged game imrovement irons. I play forged cavity backs and I am not a 4 or better. All forged clubs are not blades, but why someone would play a blade without having to is beyond me.
