I picked up a used Nike SQ 460 driver from a local golf shop in Augusta this week along with a Nike SQ Sumo2 3 metal. I previously used a "custom" Warrior driver and fairway clubs. I hit the driver well, but the fairway clubs never really felt right.
Anyway, I had a longer than standard shaft on the driver and took it to a club repair shop here to see if I could get it switched to the Nike. The shafts were sized properly for the switch, but the guy talked me out of it for now.
He said most Tour Pros actually use shafts that are shorter than standard, even if they are taller (I am 6'3). He says it allows you to swing harder without having to worry so much about the timing of the kick at the bottom of the swing. Anyway, I took the driver out and hit about 20 shots on the range and was killing it and keeping it straight. Not sure if the longer shaft would have been even better, but I will hold off for now and see what happens with all the golf I am playing over the next week.
