When playing on my home course in the Netherlands I usually just do 9 holes. But it is possible to do 18 holes.
I use the golfcard iPhone app that gets course data from oobgolf.
Now in the past I did upgrade the course data with all the 9 holes stuff. But when walking a 18 holes you had to fill in 2 rounds. Now I can see a new course data for the 18 holes. But when just walking 9 holes I cant upload my data anymore to oobgolf because the round is not complete.
Is there a possibility that I can create a 9 and 18 holes course for Kralingen?
So when walking 9 holes i fill in the 9 holes and for the 18 the 18 holes. This will keep track of my scores the right way?

Thanks for any reply.

Maybe you have found it already but in case you have not here is the procedure:

When entering a score you can select if you do an 18 hole score or a 9 hole score. In the scorecard itself you can then choose the front or back nine.

If you do this correctly you can enter a score for either a 9 hole (front or back) or an 18 hole round.

Hi Martijn,

No I havent seen this, but will investigate it on my golfcard app. So when selecting the course you say that there should be a selection on 9 or 18 holes and when playing 9 holes a selection for the front or back nine.

I'll keep you posted!

I use GolfCard on an Android Phone. iPhone's version may be different.

Anyway, I go to "Rounds" New Round, Pick the Course (ie facility)

Then there is an option for "Nines"
Front 9 [x]
Back 9 [x]

Hit the X and it will remove either the front or back nine.

Too add a 9 back in, Hit the [+] on the left.

Now, on the Android I always leave Front 9 and Back Nine on and I never have a problem just doing 9 holes and then uploading even though the card shows all 18 holes and 1 9 has no data be it front or back, on the iPhone version you may need to remove 1 of the nines as I described above.

Hi Zep,

Thanx, that was the clue. On my iPhone I can delete one of the two 9 holes in the 18 holes course when selecting the course and then start the registration of the holes.
I will also try the just 9 holes in the 18 holes thing and see if the handicap will be correctly calculated. Also when uploading an incomplete course from within the iPhone app I normaly get the warning that not all holes where filled.

I'll be back on that!

What I do (since the website can't figure it out is)

If I only do 9, I'll upload it when I am done, but I'll leave that round on the phone, next time I go for 9 at that course I'll open that round and do the 9 that's missing, then I'll upload what is now a full round and then when I log in here @ oob I'll delete the uploaded 9 hole round while keeping the uploaded full round.

OOBGOLF can't seem to put together a seperatly uploaded front and back rounds and combine them into 1 full round (unless I'm missing seeing it as an option somewhere). Would be nice if the site could recognize that, less tinkering for me!

In Golfcard on the iPhone I do the following (example with the Naarderbos course):

Select "New Round"
Select "Facility" GC Naarderbos (downloaded previously)
Then in the bottom part of the screen you have a header "Add Course" where you can delete either the front or back 9 if you are only playing 9 holes (press the red minus sign to do so).

Leave them both for an 18 hole round.

This should also work for Kralingen. There is one catch though and that is that the course in OOBGolf needs to have SR and CR for a nine hole round. I can't remember which rating it is but when you edit a course on OOBGolf it says that the rating for a nine hole round can't be over 40.0.

For Kralingen this is easy because the 9 hole rating is 1/2 the full rating as it is just the 9 hole loop played twice.

For other courses ideally you would have the correct rating for the 9 hole round.

Hi Martijn,

I already changed the CR and SR for Kralingen so this should work Smile

Thanx!
