If you're interested in adjusting your setup to the traditional ball position I've got something for you to try.
Take note of your shoulder position on your setup. Keeping all other parts of the body still, turn your shoulders open and then closed. Notice that when your shoulders are closed, that your right arm gets closer to and behind your body.
A closed shoulder line represents the club coming from the inside, an open shoulder line represents the club coming from the outside.
Try some swings in the living room or on the range with your feet on the target line or slightly open, and your shoulders closed. You may notice that it is much easier to swing the club down from the inside when you start with your shoulders closed.
