Having been a greenkeeper at Formby Golf Club,Merseyside,in the UK,if you have time and there's no one behind,always start with a light rake across the front face of the bunker then down and around the edges trying not to disturb a lot of sand in the process.Next you should have the middle of the bunker to rake towards you as you back up and out of the shallowest exit.Job Done in about a minute!!!!
