I went to a local course this past Sunday and walked on as a single. Another single came along and we played together. We had a nice 18 holes, said so long and went our different ways. I posted my score and about 30 minutes later I got a message. Turns out we are both oobers - he just keeps stats while I tend to run my mouth in the Forums and elsewhere.
It is a nice feature of oob that you see other oobers who played the same course the same day. My playing partner must have quickly figured out the connection between "Brian" and "bkuehn1952".
I "blame" Zach for my poor play. It was hard to concentrate on my game with the other guy hitting it 50 yards past me off the tee.

yeah, I usually check that but don't think I've been paired up with another oob'er to my knowledge. you'd think it would be increasingly more common, given the growing popularity of the site for score tracking.

Strangers on the course,
exchanging swing tips
wondering on the course,
what was that distance?
probably could've used it
before that shot was hit
That new club in your bag, was so appealing
something in that putt, was so deceiving
something in my heart, told me "You're still away"
Strangers on the course,
Two lonely walk-ups, we were strangers on the course...
Do be do be do.....

Cheese was just a post away
A cornball croon on this Monday....

I mentioned it once before, but a few years ago I was paired with some strangers in a tournament. After I entered the score on oob it showed same day and course of one of the guys in my foursome. I think we shared the cart, actually.
More recently I kept noticing a same-day player listed at some of the tournaments I am doing now and finally figured out that I know the guy. We're golfing together some now.
p.s. nice lyrics Beef, that is funny. I'm glad you got the Do Be Do's in there.
