We were teeing off #9 at Snohomish Public GC, Snohomish, Washington when a black bear came running up the hill. It stopped 25 yds left of the tee at a tree, our foursome was the closet and after watching it run up the hill, there was no way we were going to out run it, it was moving fast. Everyone on the near holes stopped to watch. It turned from the tree and bolted into a thicket. We were a little excited hitting our tee shots, but what a great day of golf to remember.

I think I saw that same bear, on hole #6, it was truly a terrifying experience, it attacked my friend and killed him. It really was the most horrible day I can remember, I wound up with a 98 that day.

He was probably more scared of you than you were of him. Next time see if he wants to wrestle.

Speaking of scary ass animals; the first time I played the Bluffs at Thompson Creek, I walked up to #4 tee box looking for a distance marker and there was a 5 foot gator laying on top of it. Talk about a course hazard. I went with the 3-iron.

Isn't there a pretty steep hill on one of the holes at the Bluffs? Seems I remember a couple of guys sampling the happy water a little much and flipped the cart , killing one of them a few years ago ?
