I got 104.
Last week shot 105 here.
I think the 104 shows some real positives, considering I dont think I hit a single iron well all afternoon, but driving chipping and putting were reasonable, and only lost 3 balls today, not 8 lol.
I used my brothers Iron set, since he just upgraded. I think I would like them, if i hit them in the middle, at least a few times.
Well, good to get out and play at least.

Been an interesting week. Between the rain and the snow, I got out on Monday and Tuesday. I feel like I'm playing as well as I ever have. I was plagued by an asshole greenskeeper on Monday who decided to put the pins in impossible places. Was chipping great that day too. I just couldn't sink anything outside of three feet. Ended up with a ten-over 42 on my practice course. I should have been able to shave five strokes by sinking a few five-footers.
And then there was my round Tuesday. Holes 6, 7, and 8 accounted for half of my strokes on the nine hole round. I was three over on the other six holes, but I just couldn't buy a break. Some days, I go out and all of my bad shots end up being not so bad. On this round, I got three horrible bounces on hole two en route to a double, and then nothing went right on 6, 7, and 8 dispite the fact that I really didn't hit any terrible shots (except maybe my tee shot on 7). Six ended up being a cinco. Seven was a triple. And 8 was a quad. I saved face by parring nine, but I left the course with that feeling of what could have been.

Played in my Company's annual Spring Scramble and we came in third with a 67 (net 63). I was hitting the driver great except for 3 holes. I even won the long drive with a 295 yarder. Got a dozen ProV1's for the long drive. I finally started hitting my irons cleaner. I contributed alot to the team and it felt great. Now if I can just play that way when it's just me. We'll see.

86. Dangit to hell--I played like crap today. It did not help matters that I had to play with the World's Most Annoying Man, some local loser who I've played with several times before. I was losing balls out to the right, low hookin' left, just a plethora of weak ass shots. Today I hopped on the bogey express at hole #1 and pretty much rode it all the way around the course. 13 bogeys. I had some decent pace on my putts all day but nothing ever went in. Managed only 2 GIR, sad. The only good thing about this score is that it is seven-tenths lower than my bloated scoring average, bringing it down a infinitesimal amount.

I shot 100 on my home course.
That included another disaster hole, an 11.
I am starting to get these new clubs dialed in, maybe I will try the club champs with them afterall.
Reached a few par 5 greens in 2, if my chipping wasn't weak today, i might have had a good game, that and that 11 lol.
Good golfing to everyone.

86. It was for a tournament at my high school's home course. It rained quite a bit, so I was darn proud of that score. No birdies- I came close on at least 5 holes but never got one. Ohhh welll.

I'm a 20 cap (well...a 21 after learning I need a lesson on how to hit out of the sand this spring), and I rarely have a shot at hitting a par 5 in two. And even when I do, I usually lay up. And I usually hit my drives 250+.

85. Dang it again. I played for the 2nd day in a row, and I scored a little better except for two very bad holes, one of them a total heart-racing nightmare. Like, I'm never gonna get this ball in the hole am I? feeling. Bad tee shot on a par 3, followed by a flop attempt from an iffy lie, i clipped a branch on the backswing, got spooked and skulled it about 60 yards over the green. Inched my back way to the green and no joke, made a very fine two putt for a quad bogey. Never give up. Could very easily have made 8 there had I allowed myself to get in a tizzy.
Speaking of never give up, the next hole's par 5. Hit a unspeakably bad push right into some trees, it bounced back into play, total distance about 100 yards. And then I topped a 3-wood that went another 100 yards. But keep chugging along, don't cry, hit a great layup to about 65 yards. now, desperate to save a par, taking dead aim at a sucker pin, I hit a lob wedge to like 20 feet behind the hole, eh, but--rolled in a beauty putt. Epic par won with determination. I'll remember this one. When you grind hard nice things can happen on the course.

Absolutely! Every shot counts the same and a par is a par. Keep grinding @lbeef!

Gotta love those par 5s. My favorite one was flubbing my drive about 40 yards, My partner laughed because he knew he was going to take the hole. Then I hit three wood twice, the second one to 8 inches. and made a tap in birdie. Take that. Luck beats talent every time.

Yes! A putt is a putt is a putt, is how I try to look at it. Learned a long time ago that the game is way more fun when you play like this.

And a bunker shot is a bunker shot. And when it takes you five of them to get out of the bunker, you might as well have taken to OB shots off the tee. It's less demoralizing that way.

Thanks guys.
I appreciate the support and advice I get here. Its really an amazing community we have here.
I'm a big guy and I can hit it... so as long as I make contact, most of these Par 5s are makeable for me.
I just started NOT HITTING drives, so I'm hitting a lot better shots, still averaging 220 ish at least. Playing smarter not harder. So when I feel good, and I get to a par 5, I can open up and really hit one.
I know my 26 handicap is high, but only 20 rounds in my life, and I'm confident it will keep dropping like a rock. I can feel the parts of my game coming together... its a good feeling. I know it gets harder to drop once I get closer to the 20 mark.
Really wish I could go out again today, but Mothers day, better behave lol
And amen to chasing down your bad shots, 2 bad shots dont mean anything if you're third is amazing. Never say die, just a few quiet profanities lol.
