Perception is everything! All jokes aside, the gps app is the reason I ditched my skycaddie.

I've kept myself busy comparing yardages (shot distances) measured by the Oobgolf app and other apps that I've found for Android. I do realize they won't all be exact and it takes some time to get an "accurate" measurement, but when I get 20 yards difference between apps or between the course yardages, it makes me wonder how the GPS measurement is determined. So far, I've found the Oobgolf app to be shorter than what I have calculated based on the hole yardages and based on other GPS measuring apps for my phone.

I rarely use the apps to tell me how far it is to the front/centre/back of green (except from the tee on Par 3 holes), so it's mainly used to measure shot distances from the tee. What are other users' experiences?
