After round #1 John is 12 over par (84). I have no doubt he is a very fine amateur golfer. His relatively poor showing in the current Nationwide Tour event is not an indication of his lack of ability but actually an affirmative underscoring of the fact that there is a HUGE gap between most amateurs and the pros, whether Nationwide or PGA.
