ok today i was playing golf in rainy weather. there wasn`t many people on the course but there was a 4 some ahead of my fast-playing 2 some. at about the 6th hole i heard thunder and saw lightning, and we were waiting for that 4 some to clear the 7th green so we could approach. our course has those GPS thingies in the cart that also allows some communication in between the clubhouse and the carts. well we recieved a message telling us to come back to the clubhouse because of the storm. about an hour later we were allowed back out and we played out the 7th hole but did not see the 4 some on 8. we waited for them to possibly come back but didn`t see them so we figured they had already left, so we teed off, but the 4 some came when we were driving to the green(8 is a par 3) and one of them said, "hey i thought we were ahead of you". there was plenty of arguing between the 6 of us about who should go first. they had been ahead of us since the 1st tee, but we had gotten to the 8th hole before the 4 some. we(the 2 some) reluctantly let the 4 some tee off and continue playing ahead of us after we putted out togethe, but is this the proper way to do it? who should go first after a rain delay when 1 group gets to a hole before the group that was in front of them?
to add: the 2nd guy hit his tee shot on that 8th hole off the flagstick and to within 3 feet of the hole
