Depends. Generally speaking, it's a 7-iron for me. However, if I'm worried it might be a "long" 150 yards (meaning, I'm worried it will play a little longer) I'll reach for my 24 degree hybrid and just swing it easy.

9i if I've eaten my wheaties, and an 8 if I'm losing steam...
Also depends if there's water in the front or a false front on the green of course... safe is always better than a penalty!!!

Once I could comfortably hit a 150-yard 8i, I stopped worrying about my distance.

For some reason the last few weeks, my shots haven't been going anywhere. Probably a club and 1/2 shorter than normal. 150 had been a smooth 8 but lately its a 7, not sure why. Backswing maybe has gotten too short.

I usually use a Pitching Wedge from this distance. Then again, I'm 6 foot 4 so I have a long ball.

Mine is a 7i. I might be able to muscle an 8, if I get lucky and make good contact while swinging as hard as I possibly can.

Mine's a 1" choke 8 iron or a perfectly struck 9 iron. I normally use the choke 8.

My first reach is for 7I, but have used anything from 6 to 9 depending on conditions, uphill, downhill, etc.

I'll use a 7 or an 8, depending on where a miss will be less problematic. If there's lots of green in front of the target, I'll use the 8. If I have a short green over trouble, it's definitely the 7.
