Mine's a 1" choke 8 iron or a perfectly struck 9 iron. I normally use the choke 8.

This early in the season, it's most likely a 7. Once it warms up and the swing is grooved better, it's usually an 8.

mine is between 6 and a 7 iron but one of my golfing buddies has a tendancy to hit a putter that far on approach shots if the fairway is flat and cut very short,he plays rugby (bit like American football but without all the protective gear)

I know it's an old post, but I just came across it.

The poll does not compare apples to apples. It doesn't matter what number is stamped into your 150 club, but rather what loft and length club you use. As we all know a 7 iron for one set of irons is not necessarily the same loft and length as a different model of 7 iron. Just ask Terry the Wedge Guy. It's his favorite subject. And, in this case, he's right.

I use a Titleist AP2 712 7 iron. The loft is 35*. Someone playing a Callaway X2 Hot 7 iron will have a loft on his 7 iron of 30*! A TM RocketBallz 7 iron is 30.5*. Those are both stronger lofts than my AP2 712 6 iron!
