I tried a ball experiment the other day.
I tried the following balls on the green, to the green and off the tee.
Titleist ProV1
Bridgestone B330S
Taylormade Burner Tour
Nike MOJO
Slazenger RAW DISTANCE Feel
Slazenger RAW DISTANCE Straight
I ranked them from Highest priced to lowest there... but that is nothing like what I felt playing them.
To be honest, there are loads of decent balls out there. I didn't like the Bridgestone, the Burner was ok, ProV1 wasn't worth the price.
The mojo and the feel felt so good... the straight was decent.
I think my point is, its hard to FEEL the difference, especially if you are new, like me. Hit a few, but if you dont think you like it, use something else. You want to feel good about your ball, I have used a lot, not too many that I dont like, but try them out.
I like soft, dont worry about distance, it should take care of itself. I took a chance with the Slazengers 3 for 35 at dicks, and they are sweet, 16 per pack too. Mojos 2 dozen for 20 bucks, but i got 4 dozen for 30... and I love them.
You want something that feels good off the club. Confidence breeds results that make you confident.
And have fun
