Hi guys,
Looking for some pointers on my swing if possible. I've uploaded one with my PW and another with my driver.

Driver
Shot tends to have a slice. This one was not as bad as normal but still has a definite left to right fade.

PW
This one went slightly right. I tend to feel I'm swinging at it quite hard with my irons so looking for any tips to make my swing a bit easier.

I think you have a great tempo, looks like a great start.

You may have tried a lot of different techniques with your wrists, arms, release points and everything in between to rid yourself of the slice. I can tell you with 100% certainty that the primary reason behind your shot shape is that the club head path is "over the top". Your club path on the takeaway starts to the inside and on the downswing comes down on the outside. Probably the most common swing on the planet. You would want to reverse that in the drill below which will help you to feel an outside takeaway and an inside downswing.

I recommend this exercise frequently because of the lasting effect it brings to the golf swing in terms of straightening a fade or slice shot shape.

It involves using 2 range balls to exaggerate the inside approach feeling in the downswing path. It's pretty straight forward, you want your club to pass inside the rear left ball on the downswing. Your body will adjust or compensate in other areas to make a swing happen, so just focus on your club head path.

Translating it to the course means picking one point along the target line (in black here), swing inside of that as reference when taking your practice swings to feel the inside club path before hitting. You can also use the same method when you make your actual swing at the ball...assuming you don't have much else going on in the brain!

**Remember that the left-inside ball is a reference for exaggerating the feeling of an inside swing, if you actually follow this uber inside path it will be a push or a hard draw shot.





I hesitate to recommend much more because you look like you already have a good tempo, athletic posture, grip and alignment probably sorted to the current fade result, etc. I would recommend to work on the path as the primary culprit and let your body naturally adjust to that path before continuing on to other improvements. If you want to post some videos of the drill or shots after the drill I think I can help more regarding power or consistent ball striking.

Wow that's fantastic thanks. I'll give that drill a go at the range next week and I'll take my tripod this time to keep the camera a bit stiller.

I agree on all points with Sep. One thing i think looks a little odd is that it seems like you're squatting down a bit. It's one thing to have some flex in the knees, but you pretty much seem like you're uncomfortable. If it works for you, that's fine. I do know of at least one instance where i was teaching someone and they had that same posture and just couldn't swing right. Stood up on a lot of shots and missed/shanked/etc because they started so squat. Longer clubs made the difference and put them in a much more comfortable position at address and the "standing up" move stopped. It seems like you may have a little of that going on. Do you find that you thin more shots than you hit chunky?

I noticed this too but think I may have a more upright stance normally. I went to the range last night and was connecting really well with the ball using my irons by letting my left arm really come through the shot with my right just there to keep me on plane. This 'lightbulb' moment has happened a few times but I've soon forgotten by the time I get to my next round. Think I've got it sussed this time though. Unfortunately I forgot to take my stand for my camera with me so couldn't film my swing. Will definitely try to get up there again this week though. Need to check that the squatted stance is what I normally do by filming again I think.
I'm going to show my inexperience here now Embarassed I'm assuming by a thin you mean to hit the ball in the middle with the base of the club and a fat being to take a lot of ground?
Assuming the above is correct with the swing above I did tend to hit a fair few thins and that was most of the inconsistency in my game. Yesterday at the range with the pulling with my left arm I didn't hit a single duff shot.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my swing. I'll try and get another one up this week from post eureka moment!
