Mine are rare but I had one in May of this year on a relatively short par 5. How about you?

I had one earlier this week. At my local course the sixth hole is a real pushover, it plays more like a par 4.5. It's about 460 yard dogleg right but because the tee's elevated, the corner is real easy to cut. On downwind days I've hit a short iron to the green. This week though was into the wind and I hit 5-wood out of the rough just meaning to lay up short, but ended up hitting it flush, dead nuts on line and I was mortified when it rolled up near the hole as the group ahead was still putting. Profuse apologies followed but they were cool with it. Then I hit kind of a weak putt, but just barely it dropped in the front door.

I hear you. Ultimately it takes two pretty darn good shots and a putt so I wouldn't apologize for getting an eagle. Many, if not most golfers, would be thrilled to even have a putt at eagle.

I think I was 16 the last time I shot an eagle. That would be 20 years ago.

I've been oh so close this year, though. Had a 20' putt about two weeks ago that just missed on the strong side of the cup leaving me with a tap in birdie. I had two eagle putts in a single round earlier this summer, and I three-putted them both. I had a tee shot bounce off the lip of the cup, roll up the pin, and then roll back down ending up about 6" away on a short par three about a month ago. Last year, I had a little ship shot that I flubbed about three inches...and then sunk the subsequent shot for birdie. But wouldn't you know it, I have sunk a 60 yard pitch shot for double bogey and a 45 yard pitch shot for birdie. Still no elusive eagles.

My last shot at eagle was after barely reaching a short (300 yd) par 4 green with my drive. Pin was back. 70 ft putt went well past pin....and off green. Poor chip back on. Ended up with a bogey. Learned my lesson. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Standing over that eagle putt I was already marking birdie on my scorecard in my mind. Reaching the green made me a bit too cockey. I was quickly reminded I'm not that good. I just get lucky every now and then.

Haven't had one yet. I've had a couple outside chances, but can't sink the putt.

Maybe next year.

What he ^^ says Embarassed

So far, no HIO's or eagles for me too. I'm still happy with the couple of back-to-back birdies from earlier this season Laughing

You're one up on me there, too. I don't think I've even gotten 2 birdies in a round, never mind back to back. I don't think I even have many back-to-back pars.

I've had three legit chances at en eagle. The first was on my birthday a few years back, where I left an 8 foot putt about two inches short. The other two were probably 10-15 foot putts that went past the edge.

Sooner or later...

I only have one to my name. It was on a really short par 5 that actually isn't even a par 5 anymore since they redesigned the course. I had really good first and second shots, leaving me to the right of the green, where I got a very lucky chip-in. I still have the ball.

I almost had two in a row this year. Drove pin high but off the green on a short par 4, and my chip barely missed the hole. Tap-in birdie. Next one, par 5, I hit a huge drive downwind, downhill, hit the next one to 12 feet. Missed. Back-to-back birdies, at least.

never. came close atleast 7 times. Like beef, there is a hole at one of my local courses that is a pushover. It too is a 460 yard par 5 tee shot plays downhill with a blind second shot. I have hit anything from a 3wood to an 8I into this green on my 2nd shot. The green on this hole is really contured so i have had numerous putts but no makes. Best opportunity was a hybrid off the tee and the same hybrid into the green left myself about a 8 feet uphill putt barely any break. yanked it left. sooner or later i will make that hole my bitch.
