For a single-digit Hdcp: Which driver would you recommend? TaylorMade R11S,Ping I20 or Callaway RazerHawk?

You probably can't go wrong with any of them. Heard great things about all of them. Just be sure to find the right shaft for you.

I play a Titleist 910 D2. Bought it a couple months back after being fitted. Played it once or twice, hated it. Changed the shaft after lots of research, now love it, and most importantly, trust it.

Doug, what was the original shaft you were fitted to and which did you finally settle on. The D2 is on my wish list this year, hope to get fit later this spring.

This response is probably a little longer than what you expected, but hopefully, still gives you what you were looking for from your question and some insight as to the process of finding a good shaft.

I was originally fit with the 'Ahina 72 stock shaft in stiff flex, but I wasn't sold on that option. So, I found a D2 for sale, new, from a custom fitter which had an upgraded UST Mamiya ProForce V2 65 already installed. Loved the looks of that shaft, but wasn't sure if it was right for me either. Even so, figuring it was a hot shaft, I knew I could sell it if I didn't like it, so I purchased it. It had the Titleist fitting already installed on it and I knew lots of Titleist players would like that shaft. There's normally a sizable upcharge for that shaft from Titleist.

In any case, after receiving the new driver with the V2 shaft, I hit it side-by-side with my old Callaway FTiQ driver and found I was much straighter and longer with my old driver. It had a Fubuki 60 regular flex shaft in it. Then I started doing a LOT of research on shafts. I reviewed the specs and characteristics of nearly every driver shaft available on the market, and narrowed down my choices, based on my fitting specs, to 3 choices. I used the Golfworx catalog to find most of the available shafts, but also searched on line for other new options from the various manufacturers.

Here's the best part. One of the shafts I was seriously considering was the new UST Mamiya ProForce VTS, but it came in three different torques and I wasn't sure which might be right for me after considering the different approach UST used pertaining to torque when developing these new shafts. So I decided to call them to get some clarification. When I did, first, they suggested REGULAR flex (my swing speed is 94 mph) and they offered to send me all three shafts---with the Titleist fitting already installed---to test out for myself to see which one I liked best. No charge, no security deposit, nothin'. All I had to do was plug each into my D2 head using the Titleist wrench that came with my driver. I switched and switched and switched them for almost three weeks testing all at the range and on the course. I liked them all. I kept emailing them to ask for a few more days cause I still wasn't sure and they said fine, no problem.

Finally, I decided on the VTS Silver which is the middle torque of the three, but even so, I liked the Red and Black versions a lot too. They offered to sell me the shaft for $160, which was probably lower than buying the shaft from a dealer, AND it already had the Titleist fitting installed, which was worth another $50 or so. I snatched that deal, then turned around and sold my V2 shaft for $150 on Ebay.

UST Mamiya makes top-shelf shafts and is a pleasure to deal with. The VTS is an awesome shaft. Check it out.

One side note: I brought my driver with the new shaft into Golf Galaxy to get it regripped with my preferred grip. When I walked into the store with it, three or four of the tech staff (all of whom are familiar with me) saw it in my hands and came running over to see it. "Where'd you get that?" "That's a great shaft." "Hot!" Haven't seen that set-up before, but I like it." These were just some of the comments. They also told me a got a great deal for $160.

Thanks guys. I definitely agree that the proper shaft is the key to any driver. I had my '07 Burner re-shafted about a year after I got it. Wow, what a difference the right shaft can make.

Thanks Doug, That was a mouthfull, but excellent info. I was in a fitters shop having my lofts/lies done and he had a UST Proforce shaft(thats all I recall from looking quickly) in his D3 and raved about the performance, wonder if it is like the one you're speaking of.
