Ya, I like that. He does play in club/money events and KNOWS how real rules can affect scoring. But in our micro world of three golf friends, he is stuck in pretend mode. We are off on a big golf trip end of next month and I am lobbying now for a standard bet and real rules. He is countering with - "not really keeping score, just playing for the experience . . . blah, blah, blah." Which would be fine if he didn't then want me to be a cheerleader for his ficticious scores. I'll pack a needle as my fifteenth club and have a money game with the other guy. That way he can do what he wants and who cares, cuz we will lose interest in his "79" because we have action on a real game where we both have to play honest. Thx oobers, for the group therapy.

You could call it a pargle.

I have dubbed him "Pargle", as in, "Hey, Pargle! You're up." He is taking it like a man, although sez he prefers, "Peagle".

Told you he was a good guy.
