I don't know if you guys saw my post regarding our foursome getting attacked a few weeks ago, but following up on my post from the home page...

Ok, I'll try to keep it short. We were visiting Quail Hollow GC in McComb, MS. and a group of memebers had been really pushing my foursome since about 14. One "gentleman" in particular was being extremely rude. Anyway, we had just put the pin back in on the 338yd par 4 17th (reachable if you cut the corner over the water) when we hear the familiar ping of a teeshot. No "Fore!" no nothing. The ball lands right between me and J.B. and lodges in his cart. J.B. pulls the ball back out and was gonna send it back to them when I suggested that it might be a bad idea. He agreed and just chipped the ball into the water. The guy loses his mind and comes all the way to the 18th tee to settle up. He says he wants his $4 or a ball. J.B. tells him that he'll get nothing and like it. Then the guys starts swinging and catches J.B. off guard (because the guy is like 60 years old but crazy, big, and so mad that he is crying). Minnesota08 grabs the guy by the collar and the guy turns on him. A quick jab to the gut with his driver, a knee to the groin and the guy is still coming. Minnesota08 tries to kick him and his leg gets caught. The guy falls on top of Minnesota08 tearing Minnesota's ACL in the process. Finally, I grab the guy in a choke hold and get him off of Minnesota08. The guy's head is so big that I can barely get my arm around his neck. I politley ask him to settle down. After a few seconds of struggle and choked cursing, his face started turning purple so I released him very gently (Ok, maybe not so polite or gentle). He is still hopping mad. I offer him $6 for his trouble and he less than graciously accepts and that was about it. Well, except for the 80 year old Colonel Sanders look-alike that had gotten there by now and was inviting someone to hit him.

Obviously I am paraphrasing and leaving out some of the hilarity for the sake of brevity, but you get the idea. Minnesota08 has surgery next Wed., is out of work for 3 months, and has a court date on Sept. 30th.

Feel free to drop Minnesota08 a PM or email at j_olson1974@hotmail.com and wish him well. And if you were ever considering playing Quail Hollow GC... skip it.

That one tops any golf story I have by far. One question, how did the guy start out wanting $4 for the ball, get in a physical altercation with your group and then walk away with $6?

Did you give him a birdie for his troubles?

Nope. He actually birdied that hole after all of that on a torn ACL. Amazing, huh? I was just gonna give everybody their handicap on that hole because of all of the commotion when Minnesota says, "Dude, I birdied. I earned that one."

The reason it was $6 was because I had (2) $20's, a $5 and $1 in my pocket and the $5 and $1 were in their own fold. I certainly wasn't giving him a $20.

Same here. I think I speak for all of us by saying that I hate to hear about that sort of thing happening... I also hate to hear it due to the fact that I am playing Quail Hollow this Saturday for the first time... Hopefully there will be no such scuffles for us! Get well soon!

Wow that really sucks what that guy did. I can't stand people like that on the golf course. Some people make such a big deal, i mean getting in a fight over a golfball? really? Who DOES that!

Some guy almost killed me because hit a ball, it went and hit a tree, but we didn't hear it or know it (me and the other 5 guys waiting on the tee, it was a slow day) and ends up almost hitting one of these guys on another green. He comes down screaming and yelling how "the word is Fore". i tried to apologize and he starts mouthing off how i shouldn't be playing the game and how he'll kick my ass, so i dropped the F bomb on him. Boy that REALLY set him off. LOL. i couldn't help but laugh. "i've been to jail M*Fr, just remember you have to come get your ball!". That guy was all talk and booze though. Glad i didn't have to go through what you guys did.
