Well, after 4 or 5 years, the Skycaddie SG3 finally assumed room temperature. I called Skygolf and they really hooked me up with a new SGXw. It has not arrived but I took a good look at the users manual and it seems like a really cool addition to the bag. Once I get a few rounds in with it, I will post a review. If you have any experience with it, I would appreciate some feedback on what you like/dislike.

Did they take the old one as a trade?

I ditched my SG2.5 on Ebay for $35 plus shipping and just use the Oob app.

Yes they did. Once I get the SGXw, I will send them the old one. I suppose they will fix it and resell it. I can not use the oob app because I can't use a smartphone in tournaments.

Good deal. Looks like I won't be playing in any tournaments then! Laughing

Even if you find one that doesn't... (almost?) all smartphones have sensors that provide illegal information. iPhone for example features a magnetic compass sensor. That makes the whole machine illegal according to the USGA / R&A rules even when a local rule is in effect allowing distance measuring devices (14-3).

If my Droid had that (big IF) I wouldn't know how to access it anyway.
