I have the Nike VR Forged 52, 56, and 60 wedges... They have very aggressive high-rev grooves to make spinning the ball extremely easy... However, they are tearing the cover off everything thats not a ROCK!

... any golf ball recommendations???

Thankyou oob!

Well ok... These balls are NO BUENO! Titleist pro v1's, Bridgestone tour b330's, and several Nike balls... The CRUSH, MOJO, PD (long) , and the Nike 20X1-X.

I play the 2012 version NXT Tour and NXT Tour S when I am not playing the Pro V1x. I use Titleist Vokey spin-milled wedges and can get plenty of spin with them. The NXTs (both versions) hold up better than the Pro V1xs and have plenty of stopping power on approach shots, though the Pro V1x definitely stops even quicker.

The fact that you are eating the crap out of those covers is actually by design. The balls are designed with a soft cover that allows the grooves to grip them. That's where your spin comes from.

I play Bridgestone E5. Technically, it's a two-piece distance ball. However, they have the soft covers that the ProV's have which makes them relatively easy to spin. Essentially, I can put backspin on the ball without getting any excess side spin. They are perfect for where my game is right now, and I just have to understand that I will never get more than a round or two out of them.

Most of your top-end balls are going to be the same.
