Haven't been here long but love the site. Just wondering where a majority of players on this site play there rounds. I know there are multitudes of other types of courses (resort, muni, and the such) but I figured that the three above options pretty much covered it all.

For myself I play a public (muni) in Ft. Myers, FL called Eastwood, love the track. I do get out to a few semi-private occasionally but the cost ratio just dosen't seem worth it.

I voted "semi-private", assuming you mean a course that is home to a club but open to greenfee players.

Most of the courses around me are classified as "semi-private." They offer a membership option, which gives you varying degees of perks depending on the course, but you don't have to be a member to play.

I didn't think about my answer before clicking it. I selected "public" but now that I think about it, all of the courses I play are "semi-private". We only have one true muni course in this area, and I have never gotten around to playing it.

Public all the way. I am a man of the people. Kidding, it is the only choice around here.

Public, always. I don't care to belong to a club that would have me as a member.*

Thank you to Groucho Marx and/or John Galsworthy for that phrase.

So you're not a member of the public?

My home course is owned & operated by the U.S.Coast Guard, which would make it a Private facility as you need some sort of military/veteran status to play (I'm Retired USCG). All of the other area courses I frequent would be Public courses. We have several Munis in the area but I don't get to them regularly.

i think a muni is a public course, just one that's managed/funded by local government, right?

i only play public/muni. i've never played a private course before, though I wouldn't mind, just without all of the stuffiness.
