Drove to Kiawah, paid the $20 parking, got on shuttle bus, rode 45 mins to the course. We pulled in to depart, but no one was getting off the bus. A guy got on and said something which we couldn't hear in the back. It was relayed back to us that play was delayed, and we have to go back to the parking lot! Another 45 min ride back to parking lot. There is a line of people looks like mile long. They said they were bringing "4000 people" back on the busses, and after they reopen play they will reload the busses.
Meanwhile I texted a buddy who went out earlier and they are on course watching a few players. It's not even freaking raining?!?!.
Not sure what were gonna do now. Going for lunch, not sure if I'm gonna try to go back or just go home.

This is the kind of hard-hitting real-time inside info that you just can't get from the major media outlets. What did you have for lunch?

Sarcasm at its best! Love it.

It really was disappointing to go all the way there and be turned around by the transportation people and basically told to kiss off. Didn't get to go in. No parking refund.
I had the pass for the Wanamaker Club - they couldn't just let us go sit in there and order lunch while the rain passed?
Guess it didn't belong posting here, but I was thinking of writing in to say "I'm here, I just saw Tiger scratch his butt" or something but instead had to vent my anger at the situation.

Did you have to pay for the pass as well? If so, was there a refund offered for that?
It sucks that you couldn't get in.

I think the "Open" forum encompasses your comments so at least from this writer's perspective, your comments are fine.
Some years ago I had a similar experience at a US Senior Open practice round at Oakland Hills. After about an hour it rained so hard the entire course was closed. No practice. No players. No refund.
Fortunately I had insisted on parking a 1/2 mile away in a private lot for $20. The official shuttles for spectators returning to their cars 15 mile away had waits of over 3 hours and everyone had to stand in line in ankle deep mud.
I am not sure what the solution is but some of these big time events are not especially consumer friendly.

Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, How did you enjoy the play?

You kind of have to take Merlin with a grain of salt. He's blunt. He knows it. And ya gotta be okay with that because you're certainly not going to change anything about him:)

Blunt? No Bryan, it was a joke. You see, Mrs Lincoln's husband, Abraham, you may have heard, was murdered in a theater while watching a play. For a news reporter to ask her "how did you enjoy the play" after such a disaster was highly inappropriate. It would be like me asking jfurr how much he enjoyed Kiawah, after his horrible experience. It was an expression of empathy, I'm such a nice guy.
