I had the honor to play Royal Troon twice. Once in 74 and again in 78.
It is second only to St Andrews on my all time favorite course list. The caddies in particular were an eye opening experience. After watching a player hit a few balls they seemed to be able to not only know what clubs to suggest but what type of a game you played. With blind holes coming into play they could point out a line of sight target and club you perfectly. I love links style golf and Troon is a perfect example of that.
