Please tell us some of your STUPIDstitions on the course or on your way to the course.

My biggest is never re-using a ball I 3-putted. Once I 3-putt I change balls and wait til I get to the lake and send it swimming.

There's a couple shirts I absolutely won't wear golfing anymore. Nice looking shirts, but I had some bad rounds in them and they've been relegated to "anything but golf".

If using the same club twice in a row (i.e. duff or layup from 240 with pw the from 115 with pw) I always put it back in my bag so I can go through my full routine again

my bag still has my collage red glove, as that one I shot many par and sub par rounds with, so I keep it there to remind me that it is still possible. I also change balls if the round is not going well. I use only balls with #1-2-3's never 4s. I never play a found ball as I believe it failed someone once and will again. I only play with red, green, wood tees. I never wash a ball before a shot over water or a creek as I don't want to give the ball any ideals. WOW, I had no ideal I was so superstitious...

I make sure I wash my ball before a water shot. I tell it that it has already taken a dip, now get on the fairway.
No practice swings after an OB. Why waste a good swing on practice?
When using a cart (most of the time I do) I pick a number that I plan to shoot on the front nine (35-40) or what I plan to shoot for the round (68-75). Never cart 1, 13, or 21.

Not allowed to have a cigarette til I make a par.
I give up honors after a birdie. I used to shank my drives on the hole after a birdie. Couldn't handle the pressure, I guess.

if a ball starts out bogey/bogey its gone,
time for a new one...

never go the the tee box with a ball in your pocket...

never wash a ball before a water shot...

never use an OB ball, it left on 1 guy it will
do the same to you again...

only orange/green tees, never found, never broken.

never blame my clubs, they know how to hit good shots...
