I have been wondering for a while now about the Gap between my new Driver Taylormade Superfast 1.0 9.5 Stiff and my new r9 4 iron 22 degree
I currently have a budget 3 wood.
So I was wondering if I should hit a 15 degree wood (fairways only) or maybe a 15.5 2H (yes they have a 2H in the R11 line) or maybe a 3h 18 degree
So i hit the Superfast 3W and 3H and the R11 3W and 3H.
I was a little surprised by the results.
I hit the 3Ws about the same... but it wasn't the best launch angle, 50% of the time is not good enough.
Same carry though.
The 2H i was hitting better than both the woods. Better angle, and better carry... very strange.
But the best of all, was the 3H superfast 2.0
I hit it the right angle, and hit 90% of the shots well, and they were easily carrying past the rest... and with a better angle, they will land softer too.
Superfast 2.0 hybrid is 30 bucks cheaper than the wood, better distance with better contact, I'm sold.
I just best my 56 degree xFT wedge to 58, and picked up a 54 degree too, so I think I am solid.
Just need to place this weekend so I can afford the 3H now
