merlin2driver says:After flying 4 evacuation trips out of Beaumont on Thursday, was awakened at 2:30 am Friday by another family, telling me that the hurricane had turned and was heading straight for us. We went to the airport and left for San Antonio. All I took was my clubs and toothbrush. I bought clothes at the golf course at La Canterra. Then got invited to play in the Texas Telephone Association Tournament scramble by some folks at our hotel. Life is good. 9/17/08
