1st day executive 9 hole - I beat him by 9
2nd day Montebello - 85 to a 100
3rd Mark hit the round of his life 3 birdies - 92 to 87. I'm sure he will tell you all about it.

Hawaii is unbelieveable. Kapalua Plantation course is the best course I've ever played by far. Should have broken 90 but blew up the last 3 holes. Game is coming around.

Saddlebrook is a great course. It isn't too long, but it is still pretty hard. They have TIF greens that are extremely fast. I am playing there this weekend. Only $26 online...crazy. We'll definitely play when you come down.

 

HAHA. Tank yu Luee! Yeah, it's a really short par-5. I hit a 3-wood from about 220 out to about 8 feet. I didn't even wait for the group in front of us to leave cuz I didn't think I'd make it. Luckily they weren't mad at all when I ran up to apologize. They just told me to make the putt. LOL.

 

must be the bombsky!!...hitting fairways like magnetic darts!

 

Choke wasn't really on 18. My first putt was like 40 feet. Real choke was on 17 missing a 7 footer for birdie after nailing a 3 iron to a long uphill par 3. Then you had my horrible drives throughout the entire day. Was not a great striking day. Had an unusual good putting day.

Yea - we still have two more b-days to celebrate. We'll play from one tee box up this time; I'm breaking 100 on that course for sure... maybe 90.

PR was also the first round with my new irons. Need to get use to them a little bit.

 

Believe it or not, despite the scores, it is was a 4.5 round. That tee box is too hard for us, but wanted to show Jon and Jack the course. First two holes were a disaster for me with provisionals. Forgot logo ball, but we are going back in a couple of weeks. I'll definitely pick up for you.

Not yet - but it is tough with the kid. Come up and give me a valid excuse. I think they are closing down Black for the season soon. You just have to leave around midnight one night, come get me, and we will just sit in the car over there and sleep.

 

How do you like the 909 D2? I been eyeing that club for a while now. I got the F3 a few months back, really love it off the tee. Sucks on the fairway tho.

Tri-Mountain's views were great, but conditions/course-wise, it was maybe comparable to...South Riding? Green fees were like $33 though...so cheap out there!

OMG Han, the irons they gave me were a janky mix-match set that didn't even have a PW or a SW. LOL. But they did have the Diablo woods, so I tried those...very solid!

HAHA. It's cuz you put too much pressure/intimidate us with all your bets when we play.

Scoring was ideal at SR on Sunday. The course was very soft, but not overly wet. Everything I hit on the green either stopped dead in its tracks or spun back a few feet. And you know I rarely do that. Haha.

 

No - I took Friday off and took my dad, brother, uncle and cousin. We got to Bethpage at 5AM. We were the 20th car in line. They were only giving out 28 foursomes for the date. We could have played earlier but wanted two groups fairly close to one another. Ended up teeing off at 12PM after playing a round on the Blue. I do not recommend playing 36 if you are playing the Black. Black was in amazing shape and had the two tier US Open rough (although the rough was cut down). Still impossible to hit more than 100 yards out of the second rough though. Probably the toughest I have ever seen that course play. I was playing pretty well after the first hole.

 

I can only partially agree with flicky - too many FWs hit, GIRs, and putts for my taste.

BTW - Likely going to DC during the 3rd weekend of August. I think that Jon and Dillon will be there too. One of our friend's sons is having their 1st birthday party. Will let you know, but we were thinking of trying to set up an outing on Saturday afternooon. The party is on a Sunday.

 

I really might. It is a 10.5 degree though. The shaft is a rombax 6X07. I am really close to switching my Fubuki out of my Superquad TP and putting it on the 909.

 

Shirley was the first time I tried this new driver I got. I saw a brand new titleist 909 D2 with a real rombax x-stiff and ended up winning it for a pretty decent price. I don't know if it is the shaft or because the face is .5 degrees open, but I lost every ball off the tee and was reteeing #3 out of frustration. Lost 12 balls that round. It was a disaster.

 

HAHA. FG. Haines is the perfect place for me to up my confidence, after the way I've been playing lately. ;)

Bt-dub, I did go to the range after our round on Sunday for a couple hours. I love how I hit everything beautifully there. Freakin' range pro, but can't carry it over to the course...

 

Thanks - stupid. Those holes are the easiest but got the shanks out of nowhere and started to lose balls. The four putt was dumb too - green has a ridge that is 10 feet and could not hit it hard enough to get on top of the ridge even after two tries. Are you on vacation?

 

i took about 40 driver shots, 40 hybrid shots, 75 iron shots, 40 chip shots, and 30 putts at the range...about to hit up cooks creek tomorrow...i'm feeling a fresh of the DL 88

No new sticks yet. This will be the first weekend. Did a whole makeover. Got fitted for a shaft and changed to a Fubuki on my Superquad. Also changed to an XCON 6 on my 3 wood. We'll see this weekend.

Unionvale is sick. On par with Ballyowen. Tallgrass is also sick but much easier. Willow Creek is very similar to Florida courses - pristine with a lot of water. When are you guys coming up? If you come up before the open we will play Unionvale and Pound Ridge. If you come up after the Open, we will play Bethpage and either Tallgrass or Willow Creek.

 

Look at my new image. Yea baby! Got fitted and found out I was 2-3 (closer to 3) degrees flat. I have some long ass arms. Got $400+ trade in for my current clubs and getting a custom set from Titleist.
